font-family:Arial'>On May 15, as part of Ballot Question 2, the voters will be
asked to approve funds for the remaining portion of the Comprehensive Plan for the
Management of Morses Pond. Extensive research involving studying the current
state of the pond by experts in the field of lake management has resulted in a
186 page Comprehensive Plan for the Management of Morses Pond
(http://wellesleyma.virtualtownhall.net/Pages/WellesleyMA_NRC/morseplan.pdf).
In addition to the experts, three town boards along with many citizens have
been involved in the many year process to create this plan. Many alternatives
where analyzed and discussed ranging from different chemical treatments to a
full pond dredging to using weed eating fish. The resulting plan is financially
sensible and scientifically sound. Morses Pond has been in rapid decline,
primarily because of human activities. Houses within the 5000 acre water shed
adversely effect the pond. Furthermore, invasive plants were introduced which
are choking the pond. The plan is focused on creating harmony with man and the
pond for the long term. We believe in plan and believe that the plan will help
ensure that Morses Pond remains a valuable resource for <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">Wellesley</st1:City></st1:place> for now and the future.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
