Dear Friends:

The Advisory Committee is holding a public hearing on the articles of
the Warrant for the upcoming 2007 town meeting on Wednesday,
February 7 at 7 pm. The Warrant is available for review on the
Wellesley town web site. In summary, there are two articles that
propose capital spending for Morses Pond. Article 17, Community
Preservation Committee, includes a spending proposal of $153,000 for
the alum dosing station for inactivating phosphorus that comes into the
pond with run-off water. In Article 21 of the Warrant, the NRC asks
for capital of about $880,000 to complete the remainder of the Morses
Pond Plan, of which the lion's share is for dredging the North Basin.
I encourage FOMP members to show their support at the hearing for both
of these articles.

I apologize for the short notice, but I have just been made aware of
the subject of the meeting. These two articles are likely to come up
early in the meeting, since there are 69 articles in total, so I
suggest being present by 7:30.

It is partly a result of the FOMP turnout for the Community
Preservation Committee hearing last month that they placed our project
in their budget, so let's continue our success!

Regards,
Barry Herring
FOMP Chairman
