ACT is on schedule to start hydro-raking this coming Monday (May 11) at about 9 - 9:30 am. The plan is to rake, A1, A2, A3, so be sure to have your property marked with the appropriate section code (A1, A2, or A3) on a white paper plate or something similar.
Thanks

Hello Participants in the Morses Pond Shoreline Improvement Hydro-raking Program:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Order of Work
Below is a list of participants organized by the order in which the hydro-raking will be performed. The work schedule, conceived by committee member Michelle Jacobs and approved by Aquatic Control Technologies (ACT), is organized into three groupings of participants, A, B, and C, and in the order in which the work will proceed. The objective is to have any escaped hydro-raked scrapes be collected by succeeding hydro-raking.
The hydro-raking process consists of permitting, transporting the hydro-rake to/from the pond, operating the hydro-rake, transporting the raked material to the shore, and disposing of the material at an appropriate composting site. Pictures of the hydro-rake can be found in the hydro-raking presentation given to us by ACT http://www.morsespond.org/fomp/meetings/2009_0311_hydro_raking_meeting_notes.pdf. The town weed harvester will be used to transport the raked material to the shore.
We will attempt to notify you the evening before your shoreline is hydro-raked via phone. Given the number of variables, in the process, it is not possible for ACT to accurately predict when they will be hydro-raking your shoreline at this point. However, you have the order in which the shorelines will be raked below, and thus you can follow what is happening on the Pond to estimate when your shoreline will be raked.
2. Start
The tentative start date is planned for Monday, May 11, 2009. The harvester will be on the Pond earlier getting ready to transport hydro-raked material for composting.
3. Release of Fees to ACT
When work is completed on a shoreline, ACT will request they be paid the fee you have deposited with the Friends of Morses Pond. If you have any questions, please contact Fred Fortmiller at Tel. 781-235-3090 or fortmiller at comcast.net<mailto:fortmiller at comcast.net>. Otherwise, after two days, your fee will be released to ACT.
4. Identify Your Shoreline (A new request)
To help identify your shoreline, ACT has requested that you get a paper pie plate, a piece of cardboard, or something similar on which you can write your section code, e.g. A1. Stick the sign on a post of some kind and put the post in the ground on your shoreline so the hydro-rake operator can see it. Thanks.
We will be providing you with additional information via e-mail as it becomes available. Not all people provided e-mail (or the e-mails bounced), thus you may want to mention this information to your neighbor.
Cordially, Fred Fortmiller, for the Friends of Morses Pond, Shoreline Improvement Hydro-raking Committee
